Now, in Tomte’s home world, the sauna is not a concept alien to Christmas. Villages are not uncommon either, leading to the logical conclusion that a sauna village must be equally ordinary. Yet to sauna beginner Kalki, one who prizes the order of societal common sense, it is anything but. Still, he tries to understand, striking himself with the sauna whisk and experiencing its refreshing aroma and prickling stimulation, accented with the sauna’s heat and humidity. Ah, the sheer comfort of it, feeling the fatigue of the long days flow out with his sweat! This is a sauna, this is detoxing, this is rebuilding the self! The two exchange looks. Both take joy in working for others, and both want others to feel the humble joy of feeling reborn in the heat. Minutes tick by in silence, punctuated by the occasional sound of them smacking each other with their whisks.

「俺たちが汗水流して作ったサウナ村へ、ようこそカルキ！　堪能してくれ……うん、どうした？」
「サウナ村……どうしてクリスマスにこんな物を！？　……前から思っていたがお前たちには、常識や秩序に対する敬意が欠けているのではないか？」
トムテの故郷ではクリスマスのサウナは珍しいものではない。
村も珍しくない、だからサウナ村も珍しいものではないはずだ。
だが、常識を重んじるサウナビギナーのカルキにはそうではない。
それでも見様見真似でヴィヒタで身体を叩いてゆく。
