“Whoa, it’s so good! Here, you try some of mine, too.”

Ryota and Behemoth of Shinjuku Academy often find themselves going out into the city together, and though they typically eat much the same food as when they’re by themselves, it somehow tastes much better in the company of a good friend. Although they can’t go beyond city limits due to the wall, the happiness they both exude on these outings is so genuine and infectious that one would almost think the whole world is at their fingertips. If one were to ask Ryota why this is, he’d respond that it’s simply because he’s with a friend—and though the food may be excellent on its own, friendship is the ultimate seasoning that can transform even the dullest of gruel into true five-star cuisine.

「うわあっ、これすっごく美味しい！ ほら、お裾分けどうぞ、ベヒモスっ」
「ああ、旨いんだぜリョウタっ、これも食べてみるんだぜー！」
神宿学園のリョウタとベヒモスは、放課後になるとよく連れ立って街へ遊びに出かけた。
普段ひとりで食べているものでも、一緒に食べると、いつも以上に美味しい味がする。
「壁に囲まれた場所」で孤独に生きていた時には感じたことの無かった幸福感に満たされて。
その理由をリョウタへ尋ねると、「友達と一緒だからじゃないかな！」という返事。
それは２人にとって最高の調味料、なのだろう。

「哇，這個好好吃啊！來，貝西摩斯，我分你吃。」
「喔喔，良太，太好吃了。也吃吃看這個吧！」

神宿學園的良太和貝西摩斯，常常會在放學後相約去街上玩。就算是平常獨自享受的美食，只要兩人一起享用，美味程度就會更上一層。他心中的幸福感滿溢，這是在「受牆圍繞之地」孤單地活著時，從未有過的情感。他向良太詢問理由後，得到了「是因為有朋友相伴吧！」這樣的答覆。對兩人來說，這大概就是最棒的調味料吧。
