Foreword
This is the second time I am running survey for Tokyo Afterschool Summoners (Housamo), and we have collected 765 responses.
Thank you to those who have helped me spread the word on various social media platforms! I am also very glad that this survey caught the attention to more people from the Japan community, so we can analyse the data in more angles now.
Respondent Profile
Source of respondents
Majority of the respondents found the survey via X (Twitter), Reddit and Discord.
Age
Since this is a mobile gacha game, it is no surprise that the age distribution is skewed towards the younger side.
The youngest is 12 years old (younger than last year), and the oldest is 51 years old.
A few people claimed to be 5, 87 and 99999999999 years old. Those data were removed from this chart
Gender
14.79% of the respondents are non-male and 7.07% are transgender, which are both higher than last year.
Japan only
If we only look at Japan, the percentage of female respondents is higher than global average.
Female/Non-Binary/Other Respondents and Where to Find them
Majority of our female respondents come from Japan (24 out of 53). Keep this in mind when viewing the female-only and Japan-only charts later on.
Country
Top 3 countries are Japan (140), United States (132) and Taiwan (80). This is the first time where Japan has the highest number of respondents in any of my survey, though the percentage is probably still lower than the actual playerbase.
Disclaimer
- The respondent claiming to be born in Antarctica was using US ip address

Japanese Reading proficiency
(Outside Japan)
54.58% of the respondents cannot read Japanese at all, and the percentage increases to 66.83% when we exclude all the Japan respondents.
If we assume that you need at least N1~N3 JLPT reading level to comfortably understand the original Japanese game story (which might already be an understatement, given how this game’s story heavily incorporates difficult scientific / philosophical / mythological concepts), then only 9.77% of the non-Japan respondents fit into this category.
The Game
Actual Player
Stop Reason
Among the 11.91% of the respondents who have stopped playing the game, these are the reasons they have provided:
- Bored of the game
- Sick of being unable to get the character(s) they want after spending a lot of pulls
- Lost account
- Phone break down
- Lost phone
- Do not want to start another account from zero
- Do not know how to recover account
- Support team cannot recover the account
- No account binding
- Running out of phone storage
- Incomplete translation
- Lack of time
- Do not like the gameplay
- Cannot understand the gameplay mechanism
- Game loading speed is too slow
- Outdated game UI
- Story is too long and too hard to follow
- Many parts of story featured some characters they do not like
- The character(s) the respondent liked were rarely featured in story
- Participation of shota illustrator
- Monetization strategy and release cycle of the game felt like scam
- No NSFW content
- No auto battle mode
- Respondent decided to abandon all forms of gacha games
Platform
- Globally, more respondents play the game on Android device. However, much more Japan respondents play the game on iOS device.
- Almost no one in Japan plays the game on emulator in PC
Playing Time
- Each bar represents how many respondents started playing the game at that month
- 57 of the respondents started playing the game since the first month of game launch
Main Character Configuration
Protagonist is the most popular choice, pairing with Toshiyuki Hosaka as the main character’s voice.

Money spending
- Nearly 72% of the players had spent at least some amount of money in Housamo at some point in time
- However, only roughly 58% of the players had spent some money in the past 12 months before the survey ended
- “New year grab bag” and “Monthly limited stone pack (small)” are the most popular items in the past 12 months
- “Anniversary 5 star selection pack” is much more popular than “Anniversary 4 star selection pack”
Definition of Spending level
To help make other visualizations easier to understand, we will introduce the concept of Spending level here.
- XL: those who had bought regular stone pack (original price)
- L: those who had bought the “big” monthly stone pack
- M: those who had bought the “small” monthly stone pack
- S: those who only bought the anniversary pack and/or new year grab bag (i.e. spent only once or twice a year)
- XS: none of the above but at least still spent some money in the game
- Zero: never spent a single cent in this game during the specified period
The criteria for each spending level may be a little arbitrary, but it is enough to get a sense of the general trend.
Note: because the number of non-male respondents are low, so we use percentage instead of absolute number to do the comparison
- It is no surprise that there are higher percentage of male respondents that spent at least a bit of money in the game in last 12 months
- However, female respondents have higher percentage in the S and M Spending-level compared to male respondents
- Oceania technically has the highest percentage of respondents that spent some money in the game for the past 12 months, though the number of respondents for this region is low to begin with.
- If we consider both percentage and absolute number of respondents, then East Asia respondents financially contributed the most to the game
Gameplay Style
- Nearly 80% of the players login at least once a day.
- Only 20.33% of the players will make sure all AP are used throughout the day.
- Only 17.75% of the players put in more time to farm half-stamina campaigns
- There seems to be no meaningful correlation between “recent playing habit” vs “money spent in last 12 months”
Other Games
- AnotherEidos of Dragon Vein (龍脈のアナザーエイドスR)
- Practically all Japanese respondents know about this game. The rate of abandonment is also the lowest among non-LifeWonders games in Japan
- Rate of abandonment = “Has stopped playing” / (“Has stopped playing” + “Still playing”)
- However, the rate of abandonment outside East Asia region is more than 50%
- Practically all Japanese respondents know about this game. The rate of abandonment is also the lowest among non-LifeWonders games in Japan
- Crave Saga
- This game has the second lowest current Japanese players (just above Tamacolle) among all the Japanese gacha games that target gay players. Its abandonment rate is also fairly high.
- Despite the game having English and Chinese translation via global server (which has a one year content lag), the number of non-Japan players is not very high.
- Gyee (サンタクス戦記-GYEE-)
- Among all the games, it has the highest combined count of “heard of but never play” and “has abandoned the game”
- In all markets, this game looks as dead as it can be
- Fantastic Boyfriends (F彼)
- The only buy-out game developed by LifeWonders, you can treat “abandoned” as the same as “still playing”
- It is not surprising that many overseas respondents said “they heard of it but never played it”, since the majority of the respondents do not understand Japanese and the game has no hope of ever getting official translation.
- Even among Japan respondents, there are more than 58% of them that has “heard of the game but never play”
- In all honesty, the game has a very solid story writing, and it benefited from having limited number of characters, so each characters has more time to shine. If you can understand Japanese, definitely give it a try.
- And if you do play the game, you will realize that this game really is the predecessor of Tokyo Afterschool Summoners, lots of story concepts are linked between these two games
- Tamacolle (魂これ)
- It is a gay gacha game that is mostly focused on chubby and shota characters
- It has the highest number of respondents outside Japan who have “never heard of” the game
- In East Asia region, about a quarter of the respondents are still playing this game
- Live A Hero (ライブ・ア・ヒーロー!)
- Almost all respondents have at least heard of this game, since it is developed by LifeWonders as well, and are frequently promoted together with Tokyo Afterschool Summoners in various advertisements and offline events
- The percentage of respondents that are still playing this game follows the pattern of “outside East Asia” < “China&Taiwan” < “Japan”
- Japanese people can obviously plays the game without language barrier so it has the highest player acquisition and retention rate.
- Chinese-speaking community currently enjoys the benefit of having multiple active fan translators, so this community can access more fan-translated at a faster rate, leading to better game acquisition and retention rate too
- English-speaking community has far less fan translators, which severely impact the ability of English-speaking people to enjoy the game
- XXL Woofia (XXL 漢気二丁目)
- The latest gacha game that wants a piece of the pie in the gay player market. It first debuted with English, Chinese and Korean languages in June 2025. The “SFW” version was launched on Google Play/Apple Store in September 2025, and finally the “NSFW” Japan version was launched on DMM platform in December 2025.
- Outside of Japan, it seems that the percentage of “has stopped playing” increased since another Live A Hero survey I conducted a few months earlier, signalling that the honeymoon period of the game has passed
- In Japan, the percentage of respondents that have at least heard of the game has increased since another Live A Hero survey mentioned above, but the percentage of “still playing” seems largely unchanged
- The NSFW version of the game launched on DMM platform has the biggest mosaic censorship that is even worse than Crave Saga, I think many Japanese gay players would rather play the NSFW version on global server using VPN to enjoy the censorship-free NSFW CG
Number of “Still Playing” Gacha Games
Note: this data does not include more mainstream gacha game like FGO, GBF and Zenless Zone Zero, so the actual number of gacha games that the respondents are currently playing might be much higher
More than three-quarter of the respondents currently playing Tokyo Afterschool Summoners also play at least one more gacha game.
Ranked Voting for Games
Apart from asking survey respondents to choose all their favourite characters and top 15 favourite characters, I also asked them to rank the top 15 into a linear order.
With this data, we can try to do a ranked voting using Tideman Method.
Outside East Asia
Taiwan & China
Japan
- Outside East Asia:
- Tokyo Afterschool Summoners » (Live A Hero > XXL Woofia > Another Eidos) » Crave Saga » F-Kare » Gyee » Tamacolle
- Taiwan & China:
- Tokyo Afterschool Summoners » (Live A Hero > Another Eidos) » Crave Saga » (F-Kare > Tamacolle > XXL Woofia > Gyee)
- Japan:
- Tokyo Afterschool Summoners » Live A Hero » Another Eidos » Crave Saga » (F-Kare > Tamacolle) » (XXL Woofia > Gyee)
The rankings are practically the same for east asia regions, with only some tiny differences in the edge weights.
I am quite surprised that more than 80% of the respondents ranked “Tokyo Afterschool Summoners” higher than “Live A Hero” in all markets. In my head, I always thought that “Live A Hero” is a much more polished game from LifeWonders than its predecessor.
I am very curious what would be the result of this question when I run “Live A Hero” survey in 2026.
Note: given the most of these games are intended for gay audiences, I considered making graphs with only male respondents’ ballots, but in the end the graphs’ shapes are exactly the same, just the edge weights are slightly different, so I decided to skip them in this report.
Read story
Read story (Japan Only)
- Practically all Japanese respondents do read the game story
Read story (Outside Japan)
- 30.9% of the respondents fully rely on official translation
- Another 18.6% of the respondents read official translation and fan translation when available
- Only 13.1% of the respondents can read game story in Japanese directly
- Then there are 10.3% of the respondents even go as far as using machine translation to read game story, when official/fan translation are not available
High Difficulty Quest
More than half of the respondents report that they can clear 85% of the High Difficulty Quests, which is higher than last year (80%).
- There are more female respondents that struggle to clear high difficulty quest content compared to other genders.
Changing Illustrators
I asked a similar question last year, but only provided “Yes”, “No” and “Maybe” as the valid options. I realized that this is not enough to captured the more nuanced opinions, because some people may be able to accept if certain conditions are met, so this year’s questions have more options to covered wider spectrum of opinion.
Less than 13% of the respondents would be disappointed if LifeWonders changes the illustrator of their favourite character after exhausted all other options, and only 3 respondents will be angry enough to leave the game entirely.
I believe some people may have guessed why I ask this question when they saw it. Those who have played Housamo for a long time would have noticed that some old-time characters almost never get new arts for some unknown reason. Therefore, I selected a few characters to see if people who like these characters have slightly different opinion about “changing illustrator”.
After 2025, I feel that at least two more illustrators may be risky too
- None of the respondents that put these characters in their Top 15 favourites would uninstall the game due to LW’s decision to change illustrator if that is the final viable option
- Funnily enough, shortly after I published the survey,
Demiurge’s in-game sprite was fully revealed. LW really made sure that everyone knows that he is modeled after
Ophion despite wearing a mask and drawn by a different illustrator - I plan to make a question specifically for
Demiurge in 2026
- I plan to make a question specifically for
Below is the same chart with Japan-only data:
Rating
Character Design & Voice
- The respondents are generally very satisfied of the character design in this game
- The rating for voice acting is a little lower than that of character design, but is still generally positive
Story
the charm of the characters even more
consistent throughout the years
- Respondents generally rate the story quality as good
- The scores for story understanding and logic / consistency are lower, but apparently that doesn’t affect the respondents’ overall satisfaction for the story
Gameplay
- Gameplay design
- Close to a third of the respondents do not have strong opinion on the gameplay design
- Another third of the respondents feel the gameplay design is bad, while the rest like the gameplay design
- Game difficulty
- 17.33% of the respondents still feel the game is hard for them
- Required playing time
- 63.07% of the respondents feel the required playing time is optimal for them right now
- Among the rest of the respondents, slightly more of them feel the playing time is too short
ガチャ & 課金
is better than other gacha games
- Gacha system comparison
- Over 46% of the respondents feel that this game’s gacha system is worse than other gacha games
Official Translation
For these two charts, we only consider ratings from non-Japan respondents
- More than half of the international respondents give the quality of official translation a score of at least 4
- However, the sentiment around the release schedule of official translation is mostly negative

- Once again, male furries dominated the popularity poll
- None of the characters have Approval Rating of more than 50%
- Approval rating: the percentage of respondents that include the character in their “All favourites”
- Top 3 spots are taken by
Horkeu Kamui,
Shennong and
Jack Frost in both ranking - With so much love (faith) for
Jack Frost from the respondents, he will surely be able to live in all seasons without melting
- With so much love (faith) for
Cinderella is the first old lady character in this game, and managed to take the second position in the All Favourites’ female category- In the first 20 characters in “Top 15 favourites” ranking, human characters like
Wakan Tanka,
Aegir,
Akiha Gongen and
Balor receive some significant boost in ranking.
Wakan Tanka is the only human character in first 10 positions of “Top 15 favourites”, surpassing even
Kyoma

2024 vs 2025
Note:
Motosumi’s position jumped up a lot between 2024 to 2025 mostly because I made a mistake last year of not including him in the survey until one week before survey deadline, so
Motosumi should actually have more votes in 2024.
Japan
- With 140 Japan respondents, it is clear that Japan playerbase also have high percentage of furry-lovers.
- However, Japan ranking still have more humanoid characters in higher positions compared to global ranking
Protagonist is pretty high in Japan ranking- Top 3 characters for apan are the same as the global ranking
Female / Non-binary / Other respondents
- The number of non-male respondents is small to begin with, so there are a lot of ties in votes.
- It seems that female respondents are also pretty into muscular male furries and mature-looking male humans.
Fuxi once again took the number 1 place for female respondents.
How many characters chosen for “Top 15 favourites” question
Every year there are people complaining that I allowed too few number of characters for the “Top 15 favourites” question. However, there are almost half of the respodents who chose less than the maximum number of characters allowed by the question.
Character Ranked Voting
Apart from asking survey respondents to choose all their favourite characters and top 15 favourite characters, I also asked them to rank the top 15 into a linear order.
With this data, we can try to do a ranked voting using Tideman Method.
Key adaptation to Tideman Method made for this survey
- Let Set X (X1, X2, X3, …) be the set of characters that are in a respondent’s top 15 ranking, and another Set Y (Y1, Y2, …) that contains characters not in the respondent’s top 15 ranking
- For each pair of (Xi, Yj), we assume the respondent would rank Xi > Yj
- This is necessary because I only asked the respondents to rank the top 15 characters instead of all the characters. Asking respondents to rank all characters into a linear order would be too exhausting and boring for most people.
Global ballots
How to read the graph:
An edge going from
Horkeu Kamui to
Shennong means
Horkeu Kamui >
Shennong for 56.27% of the time, and
Shennong >
Horkeu Kamui for 43.73% of the time.
We only show the top 15 characters with the most links in the network graph, otherwise the graph would be too massive to visualize.
Tideman Method explicitly removes links with weaker margin of victory, so although the raw data may have Condorcet cycles, we don’t draw those links in the network graphs above.
Horkeu Kamui wins over all other characters more than 50% of the time, making him the only Condorcet Winner in global ranking - i.e.
Horkeu Kamui will always be elected as winner regardless of what Condorcet method you use
- i.e.
- We can find the widest path of the graph to form the ranking:
Horkeu Kamui >
Jack Frost >
Shennong >
Moritaka >
Shino >
Leib >
Tindalos >
Tadatomo >
Yasuyori >
Wakan Tanka >
Cthugha >
Tezcatlipoca >
Kyoma >
Arsalan =
Hastur
Japan ballots
Jack Frost wins over all other characters more than 50% of the time, making him the only Condorcet Winner in Japan ranking
Taiwan ballots
Horkeu Kamui wins over all other characters more than 50% of the time, making him the only Condorcet Winner in Taiwan ranking
United States ballots
Shennong wins over all other characters more than 50% of the time, making him the only Condorcet Winner in United States ranking - However, notice that most of the edge weight between characters are in the range of 50% ~ 60%, so the result of the ranking could change if we only add a few more respondents
- There are no humanoid characters in top 15 positions at all for United States
China ballots
Moritaka wins over all other characters more than 50% of the time, making him the only Condorcet Winner in China ranking
Female ballots
Fuxi wins over all other characters more than 50% of the time, making him the only Condorcet Winner in Female respondents’ ranking- There are whopping 10 humanoid characters (excluding
Protagonist) in the first 15 positions of the ranking for female respondents, which is much higher than the overall respondents’ ranking
Before we move on to the next section, I want to point out an interesting observation:
- US’s Condorcet Winner is
Shennong which originates from Chinese mythology
- Japan’s Condorcet Winner is
Jack Frost which originates from Western folklore
- China’s Condorcet Winner is
Moritaka which originates from a Japanese novel
This is obviously just a coincidence, but it makes one wish, if only the real world can be this harmonious…
Character Pairing (CP)
Disclaimer
- All responses that put Best CP =
Aegir x
Agyo were removed - These characters are the first two options in the dropdown list, and I believe some respodents only paired them because they did not realize that they can delete the option and skip the question directly
- The SVG graph image above only show pairings that were supported by at least two respondents
- I have to make this compromise because if I also include pairings supported by only one respondent, the graph will be completely unreadable

Free form questions
Due to the “improvement” question being split into 8 questions, not only are there more free-form questions for me to process, the respondents also became more willing to write something for these questions, so the overall text I need to process grew like 10 times. I plan to reduce the number of free-form questions next year to reduce my burden…
A few of the comments are direct copy-paste from the survey form because I got too lazy with rephrasing comments. Only the sentenced coloured in blue are really my own.
What People Like about the Game
- Character
- Character designs that target more towards gay audience and some for the rest of LGBTQ audience
- Wide variety of character designs and yet still stick to your mind
- Commitment to character design that isn’t just copy-and-paste
- Have many hot human / furry / buff / chubby / shota / female / middle-aged / robotic characters
- Many masculine characters aren’t afraid to show their vulnerability.
- Many characters done by famous gay illustrators
- Has voice acting
- Many respondents commented about how the voice cast is getting more and more impressive.
- Favourite voice actors performing the love confession voice lines
- Detailed character expression variations
- Many costume / skin variations
- LifeWonders clearly has thoroughly researched different mythology and folklore deeply and incorporated them into the design of cool anthro characters.
- Story
- Good character backstory that feel real instead of just being a thirst trap
- Some respondents highlight that they prefer LW games that while marketed towards gay audience, but lean more towards serious story writing and world building instead of porn as compared to other gay gacha games
- The game story is able to focus more on the romance part of the relationship rather than the sex part
- Each character’s circumstances, past, and relatable issues are explored from various angles, making it a highly engaging read that offers new insights and discoveries.
- Good story makes it easy to get fond of the characters
- Both the characters’ strengths and shortcomings are portrayed as appealing traits
- Characters are a fun blend of historical figures and tropes
- Story that really makes reader emotional and invested
- A few respondents commented that they got pulled into this game by the hot characters, but stayed because of the story
- Story that tenderly accompanies people with all kinds of worries
- Original comment in case machine translation is wrong: 色んな悩みを持っている人々に優しく寄り添ってくれるストーリー
- Relatable story about queer experience and minority representation (e.g.
Hippolytus being Asexual,
Arc being Non-Binary) - Bisexuality is acknowledged and normalized
- Word choice that avoid dismissing someone’s preferences
- Ability to romance with anyone
- Some sexually suggestive / fan service writing
- Many hints of various erotic kinks
- It avoids simplistic rejection and instead shows a path toward acceptance.
- The way it gently teaches me ways of thinking and perspectives I hadn’t noticed myself. Even if there’s something I disagree with, I’m always amazed by the new perspectives and discoveries that seem to embrace even that.
- Both “Tokyo Afterschool Summoners” and “Live A Hero” give you a strong yet gentle push, saying, “No matter what anyone says, you’re the best you can be right now! Live with your head held high!”
- There are a few respondents mentioned how the game changed their life and became comfortable with themselves
- The storytelling technique that intertwines each character’s background with the plot, and the way it clearly depicts the themes it wants to convey
- Time loop is the essence of the game, which allow for many fan fictions and headcanons
Protagonist’s uniqueness as the game’s trophy and the convincing portrayal of the many relationships that stem from it
- Good character backstory that feel real instead of just being a thirst trap
- 3 star units are still useful in gameplay, and have access to many skin variations
- The game has vibrant and lively fan-art/fan work community and culture
- Bara games is very rare and rarely bara game holds for so long
- A place where one can keep a certain ideal world or ideal image close at hand
- A respondent said that he was pulled into the game by anthro characters, but ended up liking some human characters too
- But more respondents are just here solely for anthro characters
- BGM
- This is the one aspect where no one has ever said anything other than praises.
- The game requires very low commitment from the player
- No gameplay pressure
- You can always just pick up the game again when there is a character you like comes up
- The operator inside Moritaka / Mokdai mascot costume
- April Fool event that went way overboard
There were also a lot of show-of-love comments for specific characters, most notably
Horkeu Kamui,
Moritaka,
Gunzo,
Shino and more.
What Improvements People Want in the Game
Character
- More furry characters
- More muscular furry characters
- Less sexualized child character design (shota)
- There are also respondents that go further: “remove children entirely”
- More shota characters
- Less human characters
- “Human characters (especially middle-age men) are unnecessary”
- More chubby characters
- More chubby uncles
- More chubby female characters
- More chubby human female characters
- “I feel like there’s been a decrease in the addition of chubby characters.”
- More buff guys without defined abs
- More twunk (normal size male)
- More normal size/skinny furry characters
- Less twink
- Actually twink is already a minority in this game…
- “Elderlies and obese characters can be off-putting sometimes.”
- More dwarves
- More representation that goes against the norm
- Masculine non-binary characters, Transgender Bears, Masculine Women etc etc.
- Less weird hairstyle for human
- More female characters with unique, good designs like
Cinderella and
Cheshire Cat. - Too little female character
- More older female characters
- Cute grandma character
- Less female characters
- Some even goes as far as to say “delete female characters”
- One respondent gave a very short but specific wishlist: handsome old man, hot old woman, shota grandpa, loli granny, short-haired guy with glasses
- More species for furries other than canines, felines, bulls, or bears
- Orcas, Badgers, Raccoons. chameleon..
- “Too many canine characters, especially where you wouldn’t expect one!”. Example:
Amduscias,
Carbuncle,
Yurugu, and
Snegurochka - Note: for the characters listed above, they are not depicted as canine in their original mythology
- Invisible character
- … why?
- I’d like to see the addition of a classic handsome guy character targeting female players, like those found in other social games. I want to use that as a hook when recommending it to friends.
- AGF (Animate Girls Festival) characters are literally created for this reason I think, but maybe the respondents want even more “typical BL male character” in this game
- More dynamic costumes choices.
- More skins for
Protagonist - Swimsuit skin, summer skin, police uniform…
- Erotic skin for
Protagonist - Facial expressions for
Protagonist - More body type for female
Protagonist - Redraw 5 star
Future Hero sprite to have longer leg
- More female characters in Wood and Valiant element, so far there is only one female character in Wood (
Echo) and none for Valiant - More CG with
Protagonist - More characters that look more normal. Recent female characters are “too unique”
- Some character designs in the game are lacking in depth, with some in mind being mostly the other main Characters (Shirou, Ryoma, Kengo).
- Some respondents lament that recent designs are not as good as older ones
- “A lot of the new characters post chapter 13 don’t really interest me”
- Alt skin from 3 star should be applied to 4/5 star art too
- Money…
- More orc
- More erotic skin variations with more skin exposure
- Bigger bulge
- Ability to switch to less revealing costume
- Add more skin that does not involve the implementation of variants
- Higher rarity character arts need to have same number of skins as lower rarity character arts
- More character poses
- More butt perspective art
- More western illustrators
- Some illustrators can draw fantastic furry characters, but it is a shame that they only do human characters in this game
- Commission illustrators to redo old characters (especially those debuted when the game first launch with less polished art, and now the illustrators’ art style have improved a lot)
- Better summer skins. Characters getting variants only for them to be in a new swimsuit (since they usually already have one on release or from previous side-features) is supremely dull.
- No more just speedo/fundoshi
- “Characters with utterly hopeless new illustrations—I’d like to see their illustrators changed…”
- Well that is extremely risky for LW to do for this sort of reason, the original illustrator probably won’t be happy to see that
- Too many characters that look similar
- “Too many characters that dance and sing“ “Got tired of extrovert characters”
- Diversity and intersection. Because the game borrows from myths and faiths across the real world, it has a heavy responsibility of depicting them all fairly, lest they commit dehumanization.
- Darker skinned characters, especially for characters hailing from Agisymba. Some characters are explained away by being described as half Japanese, but taking representatives from African diaspora mythologies such as Manticore or Onyankopon is not okay.
- Broader representation of women, trans, non-binary. I understand and personally sympathize with this game primarily targeting gay men that may be furries - my personal want isn’t an equal amount of women which would betray that want for recognition of my intersection. But so far, I think the inclusion of women, trans, and non-binary characters are only just a bit better than tokenism - women fitting existing tropes and designed for the straight male gaze, trans and non-binary being Mx blobs and stripped of all secondary sex characteristics.
- Add animated character sprite/CG
- Add other South-East Asia designs
- It’d be nice if more male human characters could have body hair below the navel. App store guidelines can’t be that restrictive if Tianzun got a pass, right?
- Too much futuristic clothing designs that are overdesigned and shiny
- More fashion based on mythology, or casual urban designs
- More balanced human/anthro characters ratio
- Let artists do their thing. Sometimes more outlandish ideas can be good.
- Extremely large crotch
- I want more outfit variations for existing characters.
- For characters that cannot be limited due to artist issues, I would like them to be released even if the artist is changed. (AR versions too!)
- Character / Date quest
- More Date quests for current characters, and see more of their daily lives and relationships with other characters in a way similar to social media updates.
- Maybe like a roleplay social account?
- Date/Character Quest release schedule has been slower recently
- Remake or continuation of older Character Quests
- Lots of characters still do not have Character / Date Quests, the never-ending waiting is eroding players’ love for the game
- More Date quests for current characters, and see more of their daily lives and relationships with other characters in a way similar to social media updates.
- More interactivity with the characters outside of quests / stories. Similar to how they are in event shops, but in a permanent way.
- “I’d like to see more limited/alternate versions of existing characters. -> Because there are so many characters, previously released characters have fewer opportunities to appear. I’d like to see more in-depth exploration of existing characters rather than new characters in new events.”
- A comment that Ashigara and Shennong 2nd variant felt like a waste because their first and second variants are both summer theme, and they most likely won’t be getting 3rd variant (at least not in a short while)
- Less second variants
- Show male nipples in the game. XXL Woofia already proved that is not a problem for Google Play/Apple Store.
- It’s great to see new characters added, but I hope they also shine a light on existing non-limited characters.
- New appearances by existing characters, implementation of new ⭐︎4 and ⭐︎5 cards without focusing solely on popular characters
- Please add a character inspired by Gavrilo Princip, Nikola Tesla or Josip Broz Tito
- Representative folklore of more countries, for example Ukraine.
- It’s common to feel that a character’s voice doesn’t match their persona, or that their voice sounds older than their youthful appearance.
- many adult/teenager characters sounding like 7 years old was deal breaker for me
- If there is a voice actor change, I would greatly appreciate it if the previous actor’s voice could be retained as much as possible.
- Not sure if the respondent meant “keep old voice lines from previous voice actor and only let new voice actors record new lines”, or” provide an archive of old voice lines from previous voice actor” somewhere
- There are some fan-made videos that do archival for the latter for certain characters on some websites (technically prohibited by LW’s Terms of Service so I am not going to list them here…)
- Missed opportunity for not putting coin-gaining skill on
Alberich - I also see where they were trying to go with multiple characters in one unit (divine
Shino and
Future Hero), but I don’t really see the appeal of an AR-art like unit. I prefer they use the whole layout to showcase one character than to squeeze 5 MC’s onto one card. I’d prefer they went the same road like MC4 card than whatever it is that we got with
Future Hero. - More interaction between female characters
- Character design should have the right proportions
- The most common complaint is about “short legs”
- Character design matches their inspiration, background, occupation, or personality
- If anything, I feel that LifeWonders is the only lGbt game maker that can consistently do well at this aspect, so I don’t know what the respondent was complaining about
- A classmate who genuinely detests the
Protagonist - LW: OK, we will have an event where
Kirito is in the same class as
Protagonist(might even be the time when
Kirito has his limited variant) (joke)
- LW: OK, we will have an event where
- I want there to be sprites of every character facing forward and standing up straight.
- As the number of characters increases, the resources allocated to each individual decrease, making it harder to delve deeper into them.
- Some characters are neglected
- Tag each character with the world they are from in game
- A respondent said the company should stop using AI for game background
- Some respondents complained that some UI and animations are outdated and not consistent with other parts of the game
- More AR art with perspective view from
Protagonist - A respondent suggested a very specific rhino character https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karkadann
Gameplay
- Grindable Level and Skill seeds
- “Faster ways to level up characters. Currently, the way to level up a character to 90 takes far too long. It feels like it would be easier to fully seed and blossom every character in the game than it is to level up even just one character to 90.
- A way to convert low star units (1-4 star units) into 5 star units. Live a Hero has this.
- Higher rank so that it becomes possible to build a full 5 star team after building up enough team cost.
- A way to enhance characters so that they can equip two ARs and ignoring the AR team cost.
- Additional support member screens so that you can have even more of your characters to put up as supports, or have one dedicated to units during an event.”
- When using dungeon keys, it’s a hassle to have to try multiple times between treasure hunts, so I’d like to be able to use them all at once.
- Just see buff /chubby cool men with great story, not something lazy or fanservice.
- I would like to see character stories and date stories added for existing characters.
- There isn’t a lot of incentive to log in. If I don’t want to pull for any of the new units, then I tend not to log in.
- More challenges, improved enemy intelligence, not just giving them a lot of health and exaggerated damage. Perhaps adding elemental dungeons with 100 levels that give valuable rewards such as stones or tickets.
- Consolidate the display of items such as EXP, skill gems and seeds etc into “<item> x N” instead of laying out each item one by one which makes searching very difficult.
- Auto battle/quick battle
- Overwhelmingly requested, and thankfully it is mentioned in 10th year plan, so LW is already looking into this problem
- Half-stamina
- Request to only do half-stamina campaign on Main Quest, because the respondent does not like to have more daily grinding
- During half-stamina campaign, player will twice the amount of time to do Weekly Mission like “Spend 450 AP” which is extra annoying
- Additional Modes or playable content. There’s almost to no endgame
- Revamp or simplification of the buffs and debuffs in combat
- The game system is complex and difficult. Because the effects are too numerous to grasp, I often lose on high difficulty without understanding why.
- Improve the art style to catch up the market to attract new players. I almost thought this game is still testing and incomplete judging by the ugly interface, especially the map.
- Have ability to disable double speed only for charge skill
- One respondent complained that some 3 star units are better than some 4/5 star units, and some 1/2 star units being better than 3 star unit
- Run “more stamina for more reward” campaign instead of “half-stamina” campaign to reduce grinding
- Monthly/weekly boss
- More weekly mission for more Rainbow Shards
- Auto battle mechanism that is not locked in part of a gacha unit’s skill (which is the current situation of Live A Hero’s auto battle mechanism)

- One of the most common request: give existing characters more screentime/attention even when more new characters are being added
- Slow down new character release so that more time can be allocated to existing characters
- Have glossary / summary function to summarize story / concepts and background
- Difficult to remember everything after 9 years of content. Some respondents said they forget things after 6 month gap between Main Quest release
- Should have summary function after clearing the chapter
- Funny how Live A Hero implemented this feature before this game
- Main Quest story
- Main Quest story is too complicated
- Main Quest has felt unfocused as it tries to juggle telling a story with existing characters and introducing a whole new cast of characters, messing with the pacing and overall flow.
- Many respondents have a feedback in the form of “Main Quest story is good until Chapter X, then things went downhill”, signaling that people are dissatisfied with newer Main Quest story
- Story is fragmented and a pain to follow
- Too gloomy and boring
- Story progress too slowly
- Too many plot holes that never get addressed
- I wish the worldview could be a bit simpler to comprehend.
- Protagonist to be written less like a Marty Stu/Mary Sue. Everyone ends up liking them just off of first glance usually.
- Too many time Protagonist being completely helpless
- More coherence in story writing style in the same story
- Talk about how ordinary people feel about the chaos caused by the Guilds
- The school setting is a lodestone and an original sin…. most of the main story or characters clearly don’t go to school, why even put the labels of teachers and students on them? It’s okay to just have the Summoners be students… even now with Exters it still sounds stupid to force the school label on them
- Less talk about loops, and more talk about how the main characters will solve this without “knowledge of previous loops”.
- Rewrite chapter 14: both the content and the word choice felt difficult and overly long-winded.
- The developments we’ve built up so far—guild battles, majority rule—have become nothing but a hollow farce, and that’s unacceptable.
- Too many difficult scientific/philosophical lines like “love everyone means not love anyone”, “everything can be replaced”
- What is the definition of “魔屬性”
- Too much retcon
- Story length
- Some people want longer story, while others complain that it is too long to read
- Other comment:
- The sheer volume of text and lengthy passages make it hard to read casually. Even reading Chapter 1 or the first half takes so much time that it feels like I’m reading a novel instead of playing a game.
- A feature to “directly skip to the next option” in story
- Make a relationship chart of characters from the same world
- A few complains about character acting OOC (Out of character) during Event
- A lot of such complaints specifically use
Amduscias as example
- A lot of such complaints specifically use
- Many respondents complained that the story pattern is too predictable
- Flashback narrative is too tedious
- Avoid “make a character the spotlight for one chapter, then ignore the character for the rest of the story”
- More consistent lore on characters or main story instead of retcons.
- More blatant/clear message about sexuality or gender orientation instead of ‘playing it safe’ and make all of the casts bisexuals.
- Many characters become a Flanderized caricature of themselves.
- Character development is rare due to the constant release of new characters alongside new stories, all wanting their time in the limelight.
- Many times, it feels like the characters are reading out the story rather than playing their roles of agents of change in it.
- Consultants for depicting some of the other Worlds. It’s clear Lifewonders stuck with what they knew in giving Japan four different Worlds (Takamagahara/shintoim, Wa no Kuni/Edo period mythos, Kamuy Kotan/Ainu, Nirai Kanai/Okinawan Indigenous). But their takes on their own Indigenous Worlds seem reductive and also lacking in depth. Great Spirit especially seems fraught with misrepresentation, blending all of North American’s various Indigenous into one World, while also forcing co-occupation with colonially tied myths such as Babe Bunyan or Jersey Devil (without addressing the colonial nature). Other worlds have been flattened to fit the general framework of a superior hegemony leading as the representative, with the inferior to that hegemony taking the role of exile. But not all myths and traditions are necessarily framed like this - to my understanding, in Russian mysticism, Volos and Perun are seen as a dual power, both to be revered in their continual cyclical conflict with each other.
- Some characters feel like they have limited range and LW has run out of ideas for them even before their 4th variant shows up. I’m sure character and date quests have additional information but they aren’t translated so oh well
- Stop having the antagonist of the story be forgiven so quickly
- Let evil characters remain evil. Not all characters need to be redeemed
- Have event that is entirely with existing characters, instead of “create new character to start new event”
- Story is too hard to be understood for new players
- More earlier character interaction with newer characters.
- Dive deeper into each character introduction.
- Some important characters got less screen time,
- Reduce some monologues that drag the story
- The idea of Protagonist having multiple souls and is seen have a different person by different people is underutilized
- Another respondent has the opposite comment: “Less focus on the main character and their souls. Nothing regarding them can be specifically defined and is only used for one line or two when given the option. It’s a self-insert character where the choices you make only influence the very next string of text and don’t carry on to the future, it’s uninteresting.”
- Less characters being unconditionally obsessed with Protagonist because of their souls. let them develop their feelings normally
- Protagonist’s power never progresses in a way that matters during the story, which makes him too dependent on the new characters that appear
- Some texts are too long to fit in one panel. Make shorter sentence
- I am guessing that the text fits well in the panel when written in Japanese. It is English translation that is too long
- The story fails to grab attention from the beginning, the first chapters are quite weak and there are some narrative decisions that haven’t aged well. In Book 2 there’s a lot to love, but you realize how repetitive the story has become with the Rep plot and that the scope of the story has become too large for the number of episodes in chapters annually to be sufficient, Chapter 13 is the best example of this with several rushed plots or plots developed off-screen. It’s quite sad to see plots being rushed or developed off-screen, especially when you’re so involved in it.
- More information about worlds that feel deprived by the game like Nirai Kanai (
Teda’s world), and more info about the remaining Exiles. - More interactions between female characters. There could be more dating quests implemented.
- I want to read event stories where the characters, including the
Protagonist, are simply having fun together, with only a moderate connection to the main story. - I’d like to see scenarios like Canaan and NightGlow released at least once a year
- Giving more importance to the player’s decisions, even breaking the fourth wall
- More voiced scenario
- And less friendly people. MC doesn’t need to be friends with everyone.
- More choices in the story
- Valentine Crossroad event allowed the ability to have our choices do affect the character’s reaction
- The story has been quite repetitive with the destruction of the city and those post-apocalyptic stories, and the villains often are messed up just to fall in love with Protagonist
- Special interactions between characters that are related to some degree in lore (e.g.
Hecate <->
Barguest,
Fenrir <->
Hati <->
Loki <->
Jormungandr - Most of these pair do have special lines in their Date Quest
- More guild participation
- Hire some writers outside of Japan (e.g. Europe)
- Probably impossible, since LifeWonders require all employees to be able to speak Japanese
- More serious story instead of comedy
- More smaller, self contained stories
- More opportunities to express the player character’s personality, as sometimes it feels like the only personality available is very peppy and excitable (not my thing).
- I’d prefer the prologue to the first chapter of the event to be around three episodes long. While I appreciate a dense story, reading it takes a lot of time, making it hard to get to unlock the event’s Farming Quests.
- Japanese expressions could be improved.
- When it is about some gods and deities from different cultures, they may need some more background stories. Especially Japanese ones, sometimes I feel it assumes the players already know the Japanese gods and their backgrounds because this game is from Japan, but I’m sure plenty of players are from outside Japan and not familiar with them.
- Well, because this company still mainly serve Japanese players
- Proportion of screentime for different characters in a story is highly unbalanced
- Even after reading the main story or event stories, it’s often difficult to grasp what kind of character they are. I hope for character descriptions that reveal more detailed personality traits.
- LifeWonders: buy Summopedia (joke)
- Put some of the words or themes that are trending nowadays (the good, funny, and catchy ones) depending on the scenario.
- However, some other respondents hate this exact thing
Event
- More event rewards with a lowered event currency cost.
- More original events that are not following the usual festivals like Summer, Valentine, Halloween and Christmas
- At the same time, there are other respondents asking for more Summer events and real world festival events
- Some UI change during events or anniversary
- “In with the Ogres! Carpentry of the Heart” (Setsubun event) was the only event with a custom map UI to date
- Higher new release frequency
- At the same time, there are also some respondents who prefer the current slow pace of releasing new content
- Eventslop formula - new character is introduced and is the source of the conflict. Episodes 2-5 obligatorily cover each variant, with no meaningful character presence or contribution outside of their feature episode, and with no opinion on the other characters’ other story developments. These episodes, and these variants as a whole, can be removed or swapped out from the story and nothing of significance would be lost, while the story would still remain intact. Bonus points if the new character creates a world collision. See: Valentine Extravganza, Seaside Fashionista, Virtual Summer Memories, Desert Journey, Battle of the Valentines, Valentine Time Warp, etc. If you want to focus on each character in such a detached manner, that’s what the special quests are for!
- Scripted autowin story event quests. Formerly a place to experience more quest diversity, now it’s been reduced to killing enemies in one hit with preset teams. The enemy “wipes” your team sometimes but you “miraculously” survive with Guts, and then your entire team switches to All range charge after 3 turns. Pointless inclusion if they’re all going to be autowin.
- Event quest farms are generally too easy too, even when sticking with the newly released units. Doing team building well enough is not to beat the quest - it’s to beat it in 3 turns (to one-shot everything). Each phase should be harder if they’re going to stick with 3 phases only. Provide some incentive for clearing in as few turns as possible, perhaps some extra coin.
- I actually personally would hate it if the farming quest becomes hard.
- Rerun event shop should sell Salomon Ticket, Level Seeds and Skill Seeds
- Rerun event story should give Transient Stones
- Higher item buying limit in event shop
- Allowed characters who aren’t featured on the banners to still play a role in the event stories more often
- Some event story already do that, and those tend to be the better written ones
- Request for sex CGs and side story
- Impossible when the game is listed on Google Play/Apple Store
- More Events related to Main Quest story
- Have new event that isn’t about farming event currency
- Reduce the amount of farming quests while maintaining the same Transient Stone income
- Higher quality AR in event shop for every event
- More Transient Stone per event
- More welfare units in Event
- Some short side story campaigns in between events set in the current loop to flesh out some characters
- More antagonistic scenarios in events, everything is too cheerful, happy and there’s very little room for conflicts in events. There should be more characters entering in conflict with one another rather than just agreeing to everything. The majority of the tension comes from “the sad backstory” but that has no impact on character interaction, so I say less focus on past tragedies and more focus on creating present ones.
- You tend to see more “conflicts” in Main Quests and Dungeon Quests instead of in Event Quests. There is also a hard reality that if a new character is presented as an antagonist or has a bad personality, a lot of the time it will tank the character’s popularity for a long time, and LW will need more time to “wash” the character’s reputation.
- Event Special Quest for non-banner characters
- For example,
Jack Frost was debuted in 2024 Christmas event as a non-playable character and was a big center of the event story, but he did not have an Event Special Quest. He was later released as 2025 New Semester character, which also did not have Special Quest. So some characters just perpetually have less Special Quests than others that were released in an Event
- For example,
- Missions for Event
- Clear High Difficulty Quests below certain costs, with only certain elements
- More events use the parallel routes that Christmas Showdown used
- I have to say, during that event, it was very difficult to share anything to prevent “spoiling other players that chose the other route”. I think a lot of people also did not know what can be posted on social media. This kind of hurt the “hype” of the event
- More rerun events
- Rerun event is too long
- Some proposed to limit rerun event to two weeks
- An Event where Protagonist is kidnapped
Protagonist has been kidnapped/imprisoned multiple times in Event Quests already. Once by
Aizen,
Aegir and
Balor
- Protagonist is too useless in Event
- Make an event that includes all the characters who are obsessed with the Protagonist, where they are constantly competing and acting passive-aggressively towards each other to see who gets to be with the protagonist at the end of the day
- Many events already have some characters being obsessed with
Protagonist. If LW purposely create an event to include *all* such characters, personally I think such a story would be very cringey…
- Many events already have some characters being obsessed with
- Full Maid/Waiter event
- Wind Ensemble Event
- More romance options
- The story is fragmented and tedious to read. Fundamentally boring.
- Longer Event story
- Less lore dump in Event story
- Equal chance of limited variants for all characters
- While respondents acknowledge that LW need to make a profit, but people still wish that some character can finally get a limited variant
- I can’t remember if you can read events after they’re over but it would be nice to implement if it hasn’t already been.
- Yes you can, it is hidden in the Settings > Memories page.
Gacha and Monetization
Some of the requests are very bold, let just say that I have never seen any other gacha games implementing them, so I won’t imagine LifeWonders would even consider it.
Note: Sparking = Summon Points
- Reduce Summon Points requirement for 4 star and 5 star
- Implement mini sparking: guaranteed 5 star unit at half of the current Summon Points requirement.
- The selection pool for the paid limited 5 star selector ticket should expand every year, not “randomly change to something else / reduce in size”
- Reduce Summon Points requirement for 4 star and 5 star
- More variety for in-game purchase items
- Higher gacha rate for 4 star and 5 star
- Cheaper in-game purchase items
- Sell monthly game pass with daily stones
- Most gacha games from larger game company has such in-game purchase
- Unused Summon Points should carry forward to next gacha banner
- Implement 10 pulls with ticket
- More 4/5 star selector ticket
- Add limited 3 star units to shop to unlock Special Quests
- Discounted weekly pack with 50 stones (10 pulls)
- Discounted high value stone packs in event more frequently
- Too many characters to pull from gacha
- Better way to obtain old 5 star unit
- Sell general 5 star selector ticket
- Bring back older banners and add pity to 3 star characters. Also to include limited three star characters like Jinn, Triton, and the world representatives into the main gacha as it feels redundant to lock them out.
- Pity system in permanent gacha banner
- More free stones via login bonus
- More quests that give free stones
- Adapt the price of in-game purchase items by the average income of the country
- Most of South-east Asia and LATAM players are unable to afford in-game purchase items due to income gap when compared to average income in Japan
- But realistically speaking, it would be hard to implement international pricing for online products without being abused by some bad actors (e.g. with VPN / multi accounts)
- The price gap between monthly pack 1 and monthly pack 2 is too large
- 30 Summon Points in exchange for 1 ticket is unfair
- Unit duplicates should give out Rainbow shards and/or other currency
- Give more free pulls for AR gacha to max out AR without having to spend a lot of money
- Reduce the chance of getting non rate-up characters in gacha pull
- Give stronger effect in AR
- A respondent said there is “0 incentives to get a pretty art with [phase start] +1000 HP”
- Add a permanent AR gacha banner where the rate up 4/5 star AR are changed every 2 weeks
- Stop having double 5 star gacha banner
- Stop implementing limited 5 star in Main Quest gacha banner
- Option to use stones for other things
- Redeem legacy seasonal AR
- Unlock limited dungeons
- Rerun limited gacha banner every week
- Reduced stone requirement for AR gacha banner
- Option to buy 3 star character directly
- More ARs that can be obtained without having to pull from gacha banner
- Please create a non-gacha buyout game
- Anniversary should have more discounted packs
- New year grab bag should guarantee a 5 star that has not been obtained before
- Every gacha banner should have another paid version with advantage to the paying players
- Make paid stones more useful
- Ability to sell unwanted units
- Ability to exchange units with other player
- Ability to gift stone pack for other players
- Kind of like giving Discord Nitro?
- Ability to buy Rainbow shards with money without restriction
- Introduce 6 star units to make everyone freak out
- Are you Satan?
- AR featuring mob characters
- 5 star Protagonist being a limited unit that can only be obtained from gacha banner is unforgivable
- Add daily multi summon options in premium and general banners.
- The respondent must be playing some other very generous gacha game I guess. Even XXL Woofia only has daily single summon for general banner
Translation
In general, most respondents think the official translation ”quality” is good albeit with some typos/errors here and there, but “official translation “speed” is very unsatisfactory. Some even lost the patient with the game due to lack of translation.
To people who complain about translation typos and errors, I strongly suggest you guys to list down the actual story and sentence that contains the translation typos/errors and report to LW via official contact form. Just saying “there are typos/errors” without pointing out the actual error won’t help LW to fix those issues
- Many respondents view simultaneous official translation like other games is “bare minimum”
- Respondents often point out that other games like Another Eidos and XXL Woofia already have simultaneous official translation. If other games can afford to do this, then LifeWonders have no excuse.
- More transparency on official translation schedule
- One respondent requests LW to put translation plans in their plans for the next year’s announcement to let all players feel included and what to look forward to in the next year.
- If LW does not want to improve translation, they should just publicly admit it. Don’t keep people waiting.
- Add subtitles to what your units say on their voice lines
- Some Christmas events have a 4 year gap for official translation
- Character Quests, Date Quests, Dungeon Quests, Tutorial Quests and some min events are all not officially translated (such as
Quantum /
Tianzun’s introduction to guild affiliations, Treasure CP, Golden Week story) - Tutorial Quests for AR being untranslated to this day is simply unforgivable
- Skill description and status name should be translated on release
- If LifeWonders have manpower constraint with official translation, then post the story content online for fan translators to work on them
- Some skill description often have “chinese + japanese” mixing situation
- English voice acting
- One respondent described the official english translation for Main Quest Chapter 1 to 3 is “rigid and messy”
- Some respondents feel that the official translation references to current trends and slang can be kind of cringey, while others like those references/
- Request to translate Summopedia
- Request for Spanish and Thai official translation
Mostly only the international respondents would care about official translation, but there were some Japanese respondents commented about it too:
- Increase translation speed while improving quality
- Faster translation for character name
- If you want to promote your products overseas, I think you should increase your translation speed.
- I don’t feel much about the issue since I am playing in Japanese, but if the translated version could be released simultaneously with the Japanese version, I think more players would enjoy it.
Bug and Performance Issue
- Slow loading time
- Slow loading speed for story is especially slow
- It’s been nine years since the app launched, but compared to other apps I play, its performance is the slowest. During combat or screen transitions, the load times can take nearly a minute—far too long and it really dampens my desire to play.
- A respondent (sarcastically?) commented that LW should increase loading time as they would affect if new player would stay or not
- Download all game assets make the app runs even slower
- Make time to login faster
- Game freezes when trying to login
- When sprite animations are included, the VN does not hold on the most recent text, giving no time to read it. This may be related to the toggleable feature where you tap and hold to skip.
- Charge animation is crap
- Game sometime randomly shutdown
- One thing that still annoys me is how audio only goes through one source only, with the exception of hit sounds. If I put on or take off headphones at any point while the game has been running, all other audio that I’ve played up until that point no longer plays on my new audio source and I need to close and restart the game for it to play again. If I do enough runs under that condition the game eventually crashes.
- There are a few bugs here, but they’re related to the sound when connected to a Bluetooth device, which removes the music, sound effects, and some of the fight dialogue.
- Allow skipping animation of status effects.
- The game constantly performs full reloads of content when moving between screens, even if there’s no possibility of it changing (Reloading the quest map when you back out of a quest)
- The error messages are in many cases wrong or completely uninformative, particularly network related ones”
- Skills make the game laggy
- Some voice lines are too much quieter than others
- Some complains about the game sometime downgrade to 30fps and force power saving mode
- I think it is caused by your OS settings
- Phone starts to be burning hot after playing for 10 minutes
- A bug where the app frequently closes upon exiting the Event Exchange still occurs.
- Comment about XXL Woofia running faster than Housamo
- Add a Restart button in the Battle Menu.
- Enable expressions in the Login Greeting. They have been disabled ever since the last update to Greetings.
- Sometimes my game crashes/Freezes when a character uses their special move and I have to close out of the game and reopen it. Which can be annoying
- Most of the games instability comes from the randomness at which it closes itself when checking other apps
- There’s a handful of text errors and visual effects that are a bit glitchy that never got fixed.
- Fix daily logins. Each unit has a random, yet set expression every time they show up that is universal for all players and you can’t change them, for some reason.
- I often see people mistakenly attributing game startup failures due to communication issues to their own device malfunction and attempting to reinstall. I think it would be good for the official side to issue a warning, such as advising them to wait a little while.
- There is one bug where when the game plays that special effect with the smoke effect, sometimes the smoke effect never goes away until you either do the mission’s battle or until the mission ends. This is really annoying because it covers your screen, and plays a sound effect repeatedly
- When going to the Settings > Items page, there is often “missing text” display bug
- A respondent complained the experience on Google Play Games (PC) was terrible, the performance was so atrocious that it is barely playable. It takes too long on the loading screen when opening each time and it keeps freezing every now and then on the VN part.
- 4x is too slow. Please provide higher animation speed ups.
- Units audio could be optional download
- Some players play the game on mute, so audio files are unnecessary
- Support character not being the one I chose
- Equipped AR of a unit disappearing in some levels,
- Download all assets
- Reducing server load
- Preventing gacha-related issues from occurring
What, this sort of bug is the only way players can suddenly get a lot of stone compensation (joking)
Other feedback
Zhurong plushie- Communication
- More transparency and communication with players
- The opacity of the management structure is quite noticeable, and there is a strong impression that the core staff is leaving, which makes me anxious about the future of the company and its management.
- The game really, *really* needs a better system for publishing announcements. Twitter is a dysfunctional, non-respectable platform that is getting more and more hostile towards LGBTQ content day by day. Some official update posts are already getting marked as only accessible to users with verified ages. The official news site is nice, but really dated and barebones (just a list of unlabeled banner links), with page contents as a wall of content. The average player has absolutely no idea what’s going on, other than the current banners visible in-game.
- When a certain illustrator was involved in a controversy with AI art, the illustrator also happened to be in charge of arts for some 2-star characters. LW chose to completely stay silent about the matter, eroding players’ confidence with the company
- The account transfer and backup process is really unintuitive and difficult to access, and needs improvements. Every other player I know has lost their account and had to restore it through support at least once.
- Account binding for playing on multiple devices (I play on my phone and read on PC with an emulator cos I don’t like reading on a small device)
- There were also complaint about lost of game account when original device was damaged
- Account linking to Google/Apple account system
- Ability to change BGM for quest map
- 大塚明夫
- “Please use more the
Protagonist being a bag of souls plot more! Its what got me more interested in the game!” - Multiple requests for Summopedia new publication to be more frequent
- More official goods
- Make an Anime adaptation
- Another Japanese respondent said “It would take too much time to reread the main quest now, so I hope they make it into an anime.”
- Make a console game adaptation
- A few respondents wish that this game to continue
- “I hope this game never ends. Really please”
- Please eliminate typos as much as possible.
- This comment was written by a Japanese respondent, so probably about the original Japanese content.
- Including AR artwork into the story, like with Oedo Christmas, is something I’d like to see more of, even retroactively in MQ with the Vow series of AR’s, as an example.
- Add shop lines to the archives.
- Some shop lines like anniversary shop lines are completely gone after the event ended
- Added auto-reading feature to story function
- I particularly like how XXL Woofia implements the auto play story feature: there is a button to toggle between manual/slow/fast story playing mode. This is convenient when you want to read story while eating a meal, then you don’t have to keep stopping whatever you are doing with your hands to click the screen.
- Add Summosnap to My Guild feature.
- Official Summon Day prompts and special lines for Transients (no VA required);
- Allow to set customized outfits/expression for Transient icon/art for battle and friend support;
- A glossary containing key words involving the Lore.
- Collab
- They should honestly work on collaborating other game companies or maybe their game devs to either make this game better or create a new better game (hoping a game that could rival and compete hoyo/wuwa games), game companies like Hypergryph, Bluepoch, Lillith games or their teams
- Crossovers with other franchises, not just with the Lifewonders games, but also with other video game or anime series.
- Request to implement a “recall function” for AR summon, because the respondent loves the visual effect that is played when summoning a specific AR card
- I want the missions to be organized like in Live A Hero.
- Add more tutorial tips in the game for new player
- “I want even higher level enhancement items. The item’s increase is not nearly enough to meet the required level cap increase. For example, to go from level 85 to 86, I currently need to tap the enhancement screen about 400 times.”
- official merch offerings aren’t very compelling, I would like to see them get new illustrations for acrylic stands or similar products
- Distribute “竜を継ぐもの” and “無敵のDays of Lives” on various music platforms
- Allow for any OST to be selected in quests that were already completed.
- Customizable profile picture where you can swap the usual
Protagonist’s icon for an unit of your choice.
Protagonist skins / make them more customizable.- I want to read the main story and event stories in the order they were implemented, but I can’t tell which event story was added at what point in the main story’s progression.
- Example provided: https://x.com/brosso13344515/status/1537775309625634819
- Implement school emblem in game
- A few respondents request feature to hide or delete a character from the account’s character list
- Have more than one sound composer to create spectacular music and soundtrack
- There are already at least 4 BGM composers for this game
- Change the boring title screen
- A respondent is worried about the continued operation of the game, whether it can last till Book 3, and whether there will be a buy-out version of the game when reaching End of Service.
- Currently it is very inconvenient to see the list of items (which hidden in Main screen > Settings > Items)
Unrelated, but a respondent requested Live A Hero official translation in this survey
Afterword
This report was supposed to be done by end of last year, but due to my desire to improve some of the visualizations, and I also fell sick twice in a month, so the progress of this report got severely delayed. Hope you enjoy reading this report, and see you in 2026’s survey!

Boring Data Sanitization
There were two responses from the same Argentina, Australia, India, Indonesia IP address that look extremely similar. The second response looks longer, so I deleted the first one.
Ther were two responses from US that pair
Arc and
Tindalos together in Best CP question, have similar all-fav and feedbacks. I merged the feedbacks into one response and deleted the duplicate.
Two taiwan responses have exact same all-fav and top15 ranking, same age etc, one of the responses was deleted.
Tideman’s Method
Tideman Method (Wikipedia definition)
Ranked Pairs (RP), also known as the Tideman method, is a tournament-style system of ranked voting first proposed by Nicolaus Tideman in 1987.
If there is a candidate who is preferred over the other candidates, when compared in turn with each of the others, the ranked-pairs procedure guarantees that candidate will win. Therefore, the ranked-pairs procedure complies with the Condorcet winner criterion—that is, it is a Condorcet method.
Ranked pairs begins with a round-robin tournament, where the one-on-one margins of victory for each possible pair of candidates are compared to find a majority-preferred candidate; if such a candidate exists, they are immediately elected. Otherwise, if there is a Condorcet cycle (a rock-paper-scissors-like sequence A > B > C > A) of three or more candidates then the cycle is broken by dropping the “weakest” election in the cycle, i.e. the one that is closest to being tied.
Source: Ranked Pairs (Wikipedia)
Depending on your definition of fairness, Tideman Method may not be completely fair. In fact, no voting system with more than two candidates can satisfy all the voting criteria that humans want, as some of the voting criteria actually contradict each other, so please take the result with a grain of salt. However, Tideman Method is considered one of the better ranked voting systems, and is much harder to be manipulated by tactical voting strategy.
