A senior Transient student at Setagaya Agriculture and Forestry Academy in the Setagaya Ward of Tokyo, who serves both as president of its horticulture club and caretaker of its elusive and exclusive “secret garden.” The latter task was entrusted to him by the school owner’s personal secretary, a fertilizer enthusiast who holds Hippolytus’s caretaking skills in high regard. Hippolytus generally has a very idealized worldview, placing great importance on one’s purity and innocence. As such, he tends to avoid love and romance altogether, but is particularly averse to those who cheat on their significant others. This aversion stems from the torrid love affairs he bore witness to back in his home world of Olympus, which rival even the over-the-top melodramatic trysts seen in soap operas. Hippolytus generally avoids any behavior that might be seen as frivolous, and harbors a great appreciation for those who devote themselves to a single master without deviating or succumbing to any impure desires. He considers a certain security officer from Roppongi who shares his interest in gardening to be one of his closest friends. Since they both wear glasses, they enjoy scouring shopping malls for new glasses together on their days off.

In the world of Olympus, people are expected and encouraged to forge as many bonds with others as possible, as quickly as possible, like bolts of lightning from the blue. Hippolytus could not come to terms with this fickle approach to love, which created turmoil in his life and a rift between him and his family. There was only one person in those days whom he admired—whose worldview he respected—and unto that person, Hippolytus dedicated a flower crown, hand-woven in the Plain of Purity which serves as an oasis from corruption and defilement in his world. His Hands, appearing much like solid rocks covered in moss, are his Sacred Artifacts, capable of imbuing all that he touches with the same pure energy as that holy ground he once trod upon. And any flora energized in this manner, if formed into a ring, will strengthen the bonds of anyone and anything within, severing them from outside influences and protecting them from corruption. The so-called “secret garden” Hippolytus’s innate respect and reverence for nature permits him to care for at Setagaya Academy has become a hotspot for those few in the know to rest, relax, and sun themselves in peace and tranquility, though there is a particular superhuman guildmate of his who visits it a bit more frequently than Hippolytus thinks is appropriate, causing some consternation. On the other hand, there is another person for whom Hippolytus feels a certain affinity due to the fact that he has special arms of his own and has long lived in a remote area filled with natural beauty.

稲妻の様に素早く確実に、とにかく沢山「縁」を結ぶ事を良しとする異世界オリュンポス。その恋愛観に巻き込まれた結果、ヒッポリュトスは家族とゴタゴタし、散々な目に遭ったという。しかし、そんな彼が故郷にて唯一、敬愛した者に捧げた花冠があった。それは「純潔の草原」と呼ばれる、何者にも汚され侵される事のない場所で編まれたもの。苔むした岩の様な彼の両手は、触れた草花をかつて足を踏み入れたその草原と同質のものへと変える「神器」である。そして「他者と結ばれない」植物は外からの影響を遮断する境界となり、内側にいる者との「縁」を強化する力を持つ。彼の管理する「秘密の花園」は他に誰の人目のない、絶好の日焼けスポットでもある。その常連である同じギルド所属の某超人には、せめて節度を持って慎み深く利用してほしいと頭を痛めているそうだ。一方で、自身と同じく自然豊かな辺境暮らしが長い、特別な両腕を持つ某人物に対しては、淡い親近感を抱いているらしい。
