Be the one who serves beside the monarch. This vow is perhaps an expression of Snow’s heartfelt desire to possess the wisdom and courage befitting one who aids a mighty ruler. As an expression of his devotion, he has taken to gifting his master a special something every year, despite his occasional fears that this act is something of a burden to the recipient. He wants nothing more than to continue to serve faithfully by his master’s side, supporting the ruler through the endless battles they face. Although a strict man, he does feel something akin to pity for those who would surrender or refuse to fight, for it is only when he sees his charge thrust about by fate, forced to suffer some unfair and absurd torment, and yet continue to fight, that Snow truly feels alive. However, as he is adept at making rational decisions without mixing in so much as a hint of his true feelings, only those who know him very well could ever hope to comprehend the inner workings of his mind.

「王者の傍に侍る」、その誓願の下に彼が主人に向ける想いは、覇者たる者にふさわしき「智慧」と「勇気」を宿すその在り方に心を寄せているのだと表現できよう。その敬愛の現れとして、毎年彼は主人に特別な何かを贈っているのだが、時にそれが主人の重荷になっていないかと気掛かりになる時もあるようだ。彼はそれ以上を求めることなく、ただその想いのままに従い、戦い続ける王者の傍で支え続けたいと考える。その一方、「戦いを諦める者」「戦いを拒む者」に対しては、哀れみに近い感情を抱く厳しい人物でもある。理不尽と不条理に見舞われ、人生を振り回されながらも戦い続けるその刹那にスノウの心は揺り動かされるのだ。ただし、自分の感情と理性を見事に切り分けられる人物でもあるため、そういった心の機微を知るのは、よほど親しい人物に限られるだろう。

“侍奉于王者之侧”，他带着这份誓愿面对他的主人，可以说，他所倾心的正是霸者所应有的“智慧”与“勇气”。他这份敬爱之心，体现为他每年都会给主人赠送些特别的东西。不过有时候他也会担忧，这会不会成为主人的负担。他从不追求更多，只想遵循心意，在不断战斗的王者身旁支持他。而同时他又有严苛的一面，对那些“放弃战斗之人”、“拒绝战斗之人”抱有近乎悲哀的情感。唯有历经无情与无理，人生亦波澜不息却仍然坚持奋战者，才能撼动雪狮的心。但他又是个将自己的感情与理性分得非常开的人，因此只有关系非常好的人，才能察觉到他的那番心思。
